Former appointees storm Dickson's home to lobby for appointment. Former governor of Bayelsa State resident has become a place where all politicians go to inorder to secure an appoint in Diri's led government. It can also be recalled that George Turner's name was replaced by Benson Agadaga due to Long time rancour between the duo ( Dickson and Turner). Former President Goodluck Jonathan has lost his influence in this present government as political bigwigs now troop in to Dickson's residence on daily basis instead of Goodluck's residence. The former president worked against Douye Diri in the PDP primary election which Dickson stood for him despite the mass defection of party stalwarts agains Timi Alaibe whom is the choice candidate of the former president and his loyalists. Dickson is now the golden fish of the PDP led government. So many failed-former political office holders that even worked against the party during gubernatorial elections are als...

Two of the victims named Tombra Felagha and Teke Toruyai spoke with us and display their displeasure the way the government is handling the issue. "They told us to appear on an inquiry panel constituted by the governor which we did and we also filled forms. We were interviewed and also wrote our properties that were lost as a result of the ugly incident. We were promised to be given the monetary values of our property lost. Will Gov Douye Diri's reconciliatory move yield the desired result?

Image
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has started his new administration on a reconciliatory note by extending a hand of fellowship to contending political forces in the state. But will the move yield the desired result?  Mr.Douye Diri, the 5th governor of Bayelsa State, has upon assumption of office, been trying to define his administration as a one bent on unifying the contending political forces in the state along the path of peace and development. But this is expected in the light of the backlash and protests that trailed his emergence as governor following a Supreme Court verdict which annulled the electoral mandate of the then governor-elect, David Lyon because    his running mate, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, was guilty of presenting false information regarding his certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission    (INEC). Lyon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate had defeated Diri, the Peoples Democratic Pa...

Diri was subsequently sworn-in as governor of the state. Following Diri’s emergence, IYC alleged that some aggrieved politicians were planning a coordinated attack of oil installations in the state. In a statement by its Secretary-General, Alfred Kemepado, the council urged those aggrieved to seek democratic procedures rather than resorting to violence. The statement reads: “If any person or party feels aggrieved by the Supreme court judgments...

By Yamo news The major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 20 wards of Port Harcourt City council area (PHALGA) of Rivers State have accused Governor Nyesom Wike of desperately lobbying to join the APC, since the former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar  is not allowing him (Wike) to take over the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). They also disowned ‘the foot-soldier’ of Wike in APC, Igo Aguma, a two-term member of the House of Representatives, who hails from Ward 2 of PHALGA, accusing him of being a mole and a traitor, who had been pursuing personal interest. The PHALGA stakeholders of APC, yesterday during a news conference, after their crucial meeting at Orogbum Civic Centre in Ward 2, Ogbunabali Road, Port Harcourt, insisted that the Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, a former Rivers governor, remained the leader of the main opposition party in the state, with the members completely loyal to him and the APC.
