President Tinubu Opens Nigeria Borders
Many citizens, both learned and illiterates believed that the decision by former President Muhammadu Buhari to close the Nigerian borders was a major setback for the administration as it was closely related to the hike in prices of food items in the country.
Nigeria, with a hopping population of 200 million highly depends on farm produces and, mostly staple foods from neighboring countries. However, insurgencies, leakages in Internally Generated Revenue, and the drive to promote locally made products were among the reasons that convinced former President Muhammadu Buhari to close the border.
Although the speculation is on the rising trend, checks and contact made by the Round Table show that the presidency has not yet lifted the ban on the Nigerian borders.
Once the ban on Nigerian borders is lifted, it is a promise that the Round Table will take the front row in reporting the expected development
