Bayelsa guber: PDP is raising a false alarm---APC

By Titus Innocent  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Douye Diri, is “crying wolf” over allegation that it influenced the list of Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs) deployed for the Bayelsa State governorship election. Mr Yekini Nabena, APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, has accused PDP and its candidate of doing everything possible to intimidate the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) into doing their bidding.  Nabena, in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, said PDP and its governorship candidate were crying wolf in the face of its imminent election defeat, come November 16.

By Titus Innocent Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson said at the weekend that his administration’s performance was the reason people trooped out en masse to attend rallies organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State. The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fidelis Soriwei, hailed the people for supporting PDP and its candidate, Douye Diri. He said that the Restoration Government under his leadership was encouraged by the goodwill and the people’s show of appreciation for the developmental exploits of his administration. The governor said that he would lead the mop up rallies for governorship campaigns from this week. By Titus Innocent -   October 27, 2019 Southern Ijaw, the biggest Local Government Area in Bayelsa State and home to the governorship candidate of the APC, Chief David Lyon, has promised to support the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Douye Diri. The people, who came out en masse in their various communities to receive Diri and his running mate, Senator Lawrence Ewrujakpor, said Diri had the capacity to govern the state. They blamed the APC for the crisis that rocked the area during the last National Assembly election which resulted in the death of one of the PDP leaders and the Government House photographer, Reginald Dei. High rate of violence ahead Bayelsa Election Worrisome- Centre for Transparency Advocacy.

 By INNOCENT TITUS, October 24, 2019  The election observer group, Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) has said it is concerned with the high rate of violence ahead of the November 16 Bayelsa governorship elections.   In a statement signed in Abuja by the CTA executive director, Faith Nwadishi, the group urged the security agencies, especially the Nigerian Police to secure the citizens, election observers and INEC staff during and after the elections.  “We are alarmed at the rate of violence being witnessed in the  state which in our opinion will lead to serious security breaches, a replay of the 2019 general elections scenario if not curtailed now,” Nwadishi said in the statement. Preye Oseke is treating them with contempt after working for him.  A member of the group that does not want his name to be on media complain bitterly. The State Director of DSS, Ishaku Yusuf made this known on Wednesday during the election seminar organized by the Nigerian Police Force led by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone7 5, D.P. By  INNOCENT TITUS -   October 23, 2019 A group, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Integrity Group has expressed worry over the reluctance of the Code of Code Bureau (CCB) to proceed with the investigation of the allegation of non-declaration of assets by the PDP governorship candidate in Bayelsa, Senator Douye Diri. The CCB had on October 9 confirmed that it had a petition against Diri written by an anti-corruption group, Bayelsa Coalition for Good Governance and Accountability which accused Diri of not declaring his assets when he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Principal Executive Secretary to the Governor of Bayelsa State.
